25th Anniversary of BLCA
Photo Contest

In celebration of the 25th birthday of Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, Friends of the Black Canyon and Curecanti are excited to announce our first-ever Photography Contest!

 

This special event aims to capture the breathtaking beauty and unique essence of our beloved park through the lenses of talented photographers of all ages.

 

Contest Details

 

Submission Period: Applications will be accepted starting on September 16.

 

Announcement of Winners: The winners will be announced on October 18 at the Bluecorn Birthday Fundraiser.

 

Exhibit Date/Time: The winning photographs will be showcased on October 18 at Bluecorn Cafe Montrose, CO from 7:00 – 9:00 pm.

How to Participate

 

Capture the Beauty: Whether you're a professional or an amateur photographer, we encourage you to explore the park and capture its stunning landscapes, wildlife, and unique features.

 

Categories for Submissions: 1) Adult (over 18 years of age), and 2) Kids (18 and under)

 

Submit Your Photos: Starting September 16, submit your best shots by CLICKING HERE. Complete the form and submit with $5 per entry.

 

Judging Criteria: Entries will be judged based on creativity, technical skill, and how well the photograph captures the spirit of Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park.

 

Prizes: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will each receive a one-year National Parks season pass and all winners will be featured during the October 18th event, on the website, and in all relevant publications.
